Additional Information - Railroad Bridge

There is a railroad bridge northeast of the Marina that normally is in the closed position.  The bridge can be opened by contacting the bridge operator on channel 13 VHF or at (201) 246-2313.  The bridge is manned only from May 15th through September 15th.

Between May 15th and September 15th, the bridge is manned:
Monday-Friday:  5:00am-9:00pm (Call on approach to open)*
Saturday-Sunday:  5:00am-9:00pm (Call on approach to open)

Between May 15th and September 15th, daily between 9:00pm-5:00am, the operator will be available to open the bridge at any time by providing at least 4 hours’ notice before arrival time (5:00pm latest time for overnight opening).  Call bridge operator at (201) 246-2313 to set up opening.

Between September 16th and May 14th, the bridge may be opened by providing at least 4 hours’ notice before arrival time.  Call bridge operator at (201) 246-2313 to set up opening.

*There are peak hour times when the bridge cannot be opened these days due to train traffic. The times are 6:00 A.M. - 7:45 A.M. & 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
